Community And Residential Dependency Support

Our Community and Residential Dependency Support places us in the community, is a homelessness prevention initiative that supports people to remain in their own homes through regular social interaction and community connection.

Rowan Alba also collaborates with universities, retirees, and professionals, offering valuable insight into social inequality and healthcare barriers. By fostering supportive communities and providing a lifeline of connection, we help some of the most vulnerable people in Edinburgh lead settled, independent lives in their own homes.

With over 70 active community volunteers, providing one-to-one befriending, reducing social isolation and helping individuals, many of whom face addiction and recovery challenges, maintain stability. A growing number of volunteers have experienced Community support themselves, bringing lived experience into the service and strengthening the peer-led approach.
