Accommodation
Thorntree Mill
Opened in 2022, Thorntree Mill provides long-term supported accommodation for nine men under 50 who have faced homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges. The service offers a shared kitchen, lounge, recreation area & garden, creating a sense of community and stability.
Our dedicated team provides vital support, with some bringing first-hand experience of the same challenges our tenants have faced. For many, these challenges go beyond homelessness and addiction, including time spent in care, prison, detention centres, or mental health services.
“All the guys who have been referred to us made a success of it – despite the risk of taking them on for us.”
Declan
Thorntree Mill Service Leader
Not long after opening, it became clear that mental health support was crucial in helping our tenants move forward positively. In partnership with St Martin-in-the-Fields and NHS Lothian, we now have a resident psychologist embedded within the service to provide this essential support.
Having psychological support on hand means residents can address challenges as they arise. The ability to build trust and familiarity, something that has been at the heart of our support teams’ success for years, is mirrored here, creating a vital resource that residents can rely on.
