Accommodation

Pilton

Our Pilton accommodation service has been a vital support for over 20 years and became part of Rowan Alba in October 2024. Providing supported, long-term temporary accommodation for 15 men, aged 16 years and over, who have faced challenges such as family breakdown, job loss, or other societal challenges which have led to homelessness.

Our service offers five shared flats, with three residents in each, giving a stable environment to develop independent living skills before moving on to more permanent housing.

More than just a place to stay, our Pilton team create a sense of community. Residents can take part in activities like barbecues, growing vegetables, and decorating shared spaces to make them feel more like home. Our team works hard to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, supporting LGBTQ+ residents, including transmen, ensuring everyone feels safe and respected.

We work closely with a dedicated Community Officer to ease any fears residents may have about moving in. Through generous local donations, we also provide opportunities for social connection, whether it’s a trip to the zoo, darts nights, pizza evenings, or a friendly conversation. Our team support each resident in rebuilding their confidence and independence, one step at a time.
