Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager

Job title: Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager
Employer: Rowan Alba
Time: Part time (2 days) for 6 months initially
Salary: £36,500 per annum based on working 35 hours per week, pro rata if working less than 35 hours
Location: Head Office based/occasional meetings in Edinburgh, WFH when possible

Role
Rowan Alba works to end homelessness in Edinburgh by providing permanent supported homes and building relationships with individuals in crisis. We also work in our communities with volunteers who provide vital support to the most vulnerable in an attempt to prevent homelessness. Our experience lends itself to exemplar training programmes aimed at helping employers understand conditions around addictions.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and confident communicator for the new role of Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager to increase awareness of our work and develop new funding streams from individual, community and corporate partnerships.
You will be a creative, organised and motivated individual with a positive track record in working independently to develop corporate and community funder relationships.
Working alongside our Communications Manager, Trusts and Grants Fundraising Manager and Leadership Team you will develop an engagement strategy to help increase awareness of our work and raise vital funds to support our organisational development including the creation of new permanent homes for individuals with long-term experience of homelessness.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with new and existing corporate partners
  • Developing opportunities to deliver training to corporate staff and organising volunteering activities
  • Working with staff and volunteers to develop and implement community fundraising opportunities including sponsorship activities and local events
  • Organising events for key stakeholders to increase Rowan Alba profile
  • Managing relevant KPIs and appropriate CRM system for all individual and corporate funder communication and outcomes
  • Ensuring the organisation adheres to the codes of fundraising practice set by the Fundraising Regulator

Core competencies

  • Experience in relationship building and delivering long term funding support from a variety of sources
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and work independently, and with a small core team
  • Experience of event organisation and management including working with volunteers
  • Administrative skills and experience in use of appropriate CRM solutions, cloud-based platforms such as SharePoint, Zoom, Teams
  • Demonstrate respect and compassion to the people we work with and represent Rowan Alba positively and professionally at all times

What you can expect from us
Salary: £36,500 per annum, based on working 35 hours per week, pro rata if working less than 35 hours
Job Type: 14 hours per week 
Contract Type: Temporary 6 months with potential for extension
Info: 28 days annual leave plus 4 public holidays (based on working 35 hours per week, pro rata if working less than 35 hours) and contributory pension scheme

CARDS - Administration and Communication Assistant

Position Available: Community Alcohol Related Damages Service (CARDS) Administration and Communication Assistant

Rowan Alba’s CARDS isn’t just a service; it’s a lifeline for individuals impacted by alcohol-related issues. Since its establishment in 2010, CARDS has been instrumental in preventing homelessness and enriching lives through the power of one-to-one befriending relationships. With over 70 devoted volunteers, we’ve built a strong community where everyone’s unique experiences and perspectives are valued.

As a CARDS Administration and Communication Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our program. Working closely with our dedicated team, you’ll handle vital administrative tasks to support our mission of providing compassionate and assistance to individuals navigating alcohol-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate records and communications in collaboration with the CARDS team.
  • Reach out to volunteers and service users with empathy to gather necessary information.
  • Update spreadsheets and documents to track progress and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Uphold our commitment to privacy and GDPR compliance.

Job and Salary Information:

Salary: £13,650 per annum / £12.50 per hour

Hours: 21 hours per week

Contract Type: March 2024 – March 2025

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Residential Services - Locum Support Worker

We are looking for flexible, dynamic individuals to join our friendly organisation as Locum Support Workers at our residential services in Edinburgh.

As a Locum Support Worker you will provide housing-related support services to a wide range of individuals. Your role will be to provide tailored support to help address the individual needs of the client to maximise their independence. You will be a self-motivated, solution focused and a forward thinker. You will need to work well, both individually and as part of a team.

OVERALL AIM OF THE ORGANISATION / SERVICE  

We provide community befriending and supported accommodation to Edinburgh’s most marginalised homeless or isolated people.  The outreach service CARDS works specifically with people who have experience of alcohol harm, past or present and the overall aim of the service is to match individuals with volunteers.  

OVERALL PURPOSES OF JOB 

Key objectives of the service are: 

  1. To engage with individual’s identified by the CARDS team and establish a relationship with the overall aim of preparing the individual to receive a weekly visit from a volunteer.  
  2. Explain the CARDS service and support them to make a decision based on information around the values of the organisation and our approach.   
  3. Facilitate a match with a volunteer and supporting the match through double visits and guiding both through the process to a point of safe lone working.  
  4. Assist clients with their individual goals and aspirations and link with mainstream services that can support them to remain well. 
  5. Provide focussed crisis intervention support to clients to access the support they require or the signposting that is relevant.  
  6. Be the first point of contact for the volunteers working with individuals on your case load. 
  7. Take part in team meetings once a week for direction, support and feedback. 
  8. Self-manage your diary to accommodate travel, sessions, admin, teamwork and communications. 
  9. Communicate with CARDS Staff and with updates on client related work.  
  10. Progress specific tasks with individuals delegated by the CARDS team such as, obtaining bus passes, getting out in the community, liaising with agencies, and communicating on behalf of the client to access services.  
  11. Take part in meetings with the CARDS team as appropriate. 
  12. Support with individual projects aimed at improving the effectiveness of the CARDS service and the wellbeing of the CARDS individual clients and the wider CARDS community.
